For Members

Thanks for becoming a member of the Girdwood Chamber of Commerce! Below you’ll find a list of resources and opportunities for members.

2018 Membership

Membership lasts for a calendar year, from January to December. Membership and advertising drives for the next year happen in September, and the printed Map & Business Directory is finalized throughout the final quarter and published in late December for the full membership year. Website listings and advertising can be purchased at any time throughout the membership year.

If you have any questions about membership or advertising opportunities, please take a look at our Membership or Advertising pages, or contact the Board of Directors.

2018 Business Directory & Map

The 2018 map is published! Download a PDF of the map here.

The printed maps are stored at the Alyeska Resort Project Office, 184 Olympic Mountain Loop. Pick up as many as you need for distribution. The maps come in bundles of 50 maps, and boxes contain 600 maps or 12 bundles. Please make sure you fill out the log sheet with your name and the number you took, so that we can track and order the right amount of maps next year.

Meetings & Events

The Board of Directors meets on the third Wednesday of every month, and also hosts several workshops related to small business ownership and marketing throughout the year. Bookmark the Events Calendar for the meetings and workshop schedule, and to RSVP for the events you’d like to attend. Workshops are usually free and members can bring guests! All members are welcome to attend the regular board meetings as well.

Past Workshops

February 14, 2018: Legal Aspects of LLCs
In partnership with the Alaska Small Business Development Center, the Chamber hosted attorney Andrew Mitton and a workshop all about LLCs: What they are, whether you should form one, and how they can benefit your business. Check out the notes from the presentation. If you missed it, the SBDC hosts classes like this one each month; visit their website to find out about the next one.

January 17, 2018: Business Blogging 101
Nicole Geils presented on blogging to generate traffic and drive leads from your website. Her workshop focused on creating blog posts that resonate with your target audience and to understand why blogging, social media and SEO work so well together. Take a look at the handout.
