Girdwood Brewing Company
Local Brews & Epic Views
About Us: Girdwood Brewing Company was founded by twin brothers, brew engineers Rory and Brett Marenco, social drinking advocate Josh Hegna, and chief tasting officers Amy Shimek and Karl Mclaughlin. The Marenco twins have been brewing beer for 12 years. They started brewing beer when they were college students studying mechanical engineering in Salt Lake City. What started out as a hobby quickly became a passion. They tend to have a culinary influence in their recipes, artistically tweaking the standard styles to add unique flavors and aromas. They are constantly looking to brew a fresh, original craft beer.
Location: Located at 2700 Alyeska Highway, across the street from Donner. We are right off of the bike trail, next to a shuttle stop, and within walking distance from anywhere in Girdwood.
Taproom and Beer Garden: The taproom has massive windows that bring in panoramic views of the Chugach that are framed by Sitka spruce timbers. A beautiful bar is waiting for beer and adventure enthusiasts to wet their palette. Our beer garden gets some of the best sun in Girdwood and is a great place to chill out with a flavorful craft beer during the warmer months.
Food: Food trucks will stop by the brewery periodically. Patrons may also bring in their own food or order food for delivery from one of Girdwood’s fantastic restaurants.
Beer: Girdwood Brewing Company houses a Premier Stainless 10-barrel direct fire micro brewhouse with three 20-barrel fermentation vessels and a 20 barrel brite beer tank. In its current capacity, we can produce over 2,000 barrels a year. Four-ounce tasters and 12-ounce pours will be available in taproom, or patrons can fill a growler or five-gallon keg to bring home. Our delicious IP-AK and our easy drinking Down the Chute (a crisp, refreshing kölsch) will always be flowing. The tap list will never be stagnant as new beers will be added depending on the season, local events, and demand of the people. Check out Facebook, Instagram, or our website to see what is on tap when we open up this March.
