Tucked away off the beaten path in the charming ski town of Girdwood, Alaska, The Double Musky Inn serves up the finest steaks and seafood with a Cajun accent. Originally from the South, owners Bob and Deanna Persons imported Cajun and classic New Orleans cuisine prepared with Alaska seafood, prime grade beef and other fresh, high quality ingredients.
The Double Musky Inn was originally built in 1962 functioning as a ski bar for many years. Customers cooked their own steaks over a fire in the front dining room (the only dining space at the time) and ate their food on picnic tables. Occasionally a polka band would play, tables would be moved and dancing would ensue. The Musky was not very successful initially, passing through many hands, but when Bob and Deanna bought the restaurant the great adventure began. Years of struggling without employees eventually turned to a successful if not hard won business. Creating what is today, a down to earth and yet world-class restaurant named one of the Food Network's top ten restaurants. Described by Esquire Magazine as the "last great American roadhouse and favorably reviewed time and again by publications world wide, the Double Musky Inn aims to please every guest with mouth watering homemade recipes.
The Persons' dream of owning their own restaurant in their beloved community of Girdwood has come to fruition and is being carried on through their son, Justin. With gratitude and love, their hopes are to continue bringing internationally acclaimed cuisine to the community and guests from around the world. Thank you and as always Laissez les bon temps rouler! Let the good times roll!!
